Ok...so I squealed again when I saw a SECOND card on the picture of the Convention Display Boards!! I really love this simple, yet lovely card and am so happy that it received some recognition. It is a great thrill for us stampers to have the work that we are proud of out there for so many to see.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this card on a picture of a Convention Display Board. Well, I squealed and jumped up out of my chair!! I think this little guy is so cute and I worked hard paper piecing him, so it is quite an honor to have him end up on one of the boards for all of the convention goers to see.

Inspired by Nature

Here is a card that I love to look at!! I used the Inspired by Nature set that has become one of my all-time favorite Stampin' Up! sets EVER!! When I first saw this set, I thought it was nice, but not something that I would need. Then...I saw what people were doing with it and just how yummy it was, so I bought it and I'm soooooo very glad I did. It is just the most beautiful and easy to use set EVER!!! Then there is that awesome scalloped oval punch...how great is that? (this one is straight too...ugh I need a camera!)

Simple "Man" card

Here is a very easy "man" card. Many have trouble coming up with cards for men...not me, I love making them and find it quick and easy work. Perhaps that is because I'm in a household full of boys!! I really like the stamp set Happiness is a Journey. My husband and children love trains, so this set was a must have for me. Oh, and, the card is straight...it is the scanning that makes is a wonky :0(

I love Upsy Daisy!!

I'm so in love with the stamp set Upsy Daisy!! It is so easy to make a beautiful card without much effort. This sketch came from the weekly sketch challenge at a wonderful site called Stampin' Addicts. The colors are Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss and Naturals White with Artichoke ribbon. The Stamp-a-ma-jig was necessary to get my flowers lined up just right (love, love, love that tool!!). Just so you know...the card is straight, just not the scanning ;0)

Simple Card

Here's a simple little card to get me back into the game. The stamp set is Pocket Silhouettes and the colors are Perfect and Pale Plum with Very Vanilla. I've had this ribbon for years, so I'm not sure where it came from, but it is an exact match for Perfet Plum. I used the Scallop Square punch, which I LOVE!! The layout is from the Stampin' Addicts sketch challenge.

It has been a while...

Ok, so it has been so long since I have posted. I'm going to try to do better and get some of you to actually want to view this blog!! I have a few projects that I'm going to post and then I'm going to go buy a new camera soon so I can actually take good pics of my projects. I suppose that is what stopped me from keeping up with this...I HATE MY CAMERA!!! So, the ones I'm posting are scanned and I hope to be able to take pics soon and post more often!!

Scrapbook Page Contest Entry

Ok, so I really don't scrap (yet), but I entered this page in a contest recently. It did not win...but I think it is pretty darn good. This is my youngest at halloween in 2006. Isn't he a cutie pie?! The chipboard frame scanned very dark, but it is actually Always Artichoke.

Dazzling Watercolor Crayons

I really like the end result of this card. I stamped the three images by coloring the stamp with the watercolor crayons and misting with water before applying to cs. Then, while the image was still quite wet, I sprinkled on heat and stick powder and zapped it with the heat gun. After this I sprinkled on some daz. diamonds and gave it another zap of heat. It is hard to tell from the pic, but it looks so yummy!!

Time Flies...

So sorry for being MIA. I just cannot believe how fast time has been going and how much I seem to need more of it on a daily basis. Anyway, I have had some time to stamp and hope to be loading it on my blog in the next few days...starting now!!

Scouts at Play

Ok, I'm finally back. I have been so busy and had no time to stamp...what the heck?! Well, I plan to get back in the swing of things, but in the mean time I'll post a pic of the very simple Cub Scout invitation I made for our upcoming banquet. Yes, simple and kinda boring, we have a limited budget, but this card (38 of them) took forever!!!! I used WCC on the images. Whew, I'm kinda sick of these images.

Anyway, you may recognize these images from the very popular and very retired Scouts at Play set. How lucky am I to find someone with this set that I could borrow. Guess who is stamping a BUNCH of these images for herself to use for future scouting needs...well, of course, ME!! Now I won't be tempted to pay outrageous (ridiculous!) prices on evilbay!!

York Peppermint Pattie Ornaments

So I saw these little buggers on SCS and I had to make some. I decided to make mine into Christmas ornaments. I took a York Peppermint Pattie and used the scalloped and circle punches to make a front and back for them. Then I tied ribbon around them and voila....Christmas ornaments. I decorated the front and back the same so as not to have to worry about how to hang them or attach them to a package. Super fun and super fast to make. Give them a try!!

What a Month!!

Wow, this month went by so fast. If you recall, I held a large event on Oct. 6, World Card Making Day, to make cards to donate to the RMH and Hope Lodge, both in Rochester, MN. Well, after all of the sorting and such, I finally delivered all 660 of them today. It is quite a drive, which is why it took so long to coordinate a date to actually go. They were so thankful to receive the cards and it was so nice. It was uber hard work, but so worth it all. Thank you to all who helped out and know that your contribution was appreciated by all.

Grandma asked me to make her some thank you cards to send and these are two of the designs I came up with for her. She wants 15 cards in all and I made 5 of each of these...so one more design and 5 cards to go. If the one using Baroque Mofifs looks familiar...it's because I just changed the colors and sentiment of one of my SAS Christmas cards.

Autumn Harvest

So I received an order for cards this morning and I thought I'd start working on them right away. Of course, I got side-tracked and made this. Very time consuming, but totally fun to make. I wheeled the pumpkin pie cs with the Autumn Leaves wheel from the Holiday collection. I stamped the large pumpkins on naturals white using the masking technique and then water colored with the crayons and an aqua painter. Then, everything else is stamped on naturals white (with black stazon for all), water colored and cut out. It is all layered using glue dots and dimensionals.

Ok, so I'm organizing my new craft room and I found boxes and bags of scraps. I thought, just for a second of throwing them away, but just couldn't! I have a hard time throwing anything SU! away. So, I vowed to use them...I started last night by creating these two very quick and simple cards. I did not cut ANY full sheets of cs, not even for the card bases. I was so proud of myself. So, this is my mission...to get using those scraps.

Both cards are made with Baroque Motifs.

Baroque Christmas

I wanted to make a Christmas card with this set for my stamp-a-stack to show how versatile these stamps are. Simple but elegant. It does need some gold brads, but I'm out...the horror!

Crayon Resist Christmas

I LOVE this card. The image is totally cased from somewhere, but I cannot remember where I saw it. So, whoever came up with this...thank you so much!! This card is so beautiful IRL. I used the crayon resist technique on glossy cs. First I stamped with stazon, then colored in the snow areas with a plain white crayon. Next, I sponged on classic ink to the image, the white parts showed through, of course. Then, I used a bit of two-way glue and daz. diamonds for a bit of sparkle. The sentiment is also on glossy cs and heat embossed. All of the colored cs is sponged and stippled like crazy. The effect is awesome!
